Personal Testimonials about our program

Bro. Luke,

The generations (Picture) was taken the summer before we met. I praise God for giving me a testimony to share.
For years I was overweight and suffered with an eating disorder. Year after year I would try new
ways of losing weight, hoping to get down to my ideal size 12. The weight loss plans I followed
went totally against the Laws of Health. After being reintroduced to the Laws of Health the Holy
Spirit impressed upon my heart that this was God’s way. Nicole Holmes - Before and After PhotosWith His help I began to integrate them in
my daily living. Initially, I did not start out to lose weight, but I wanted to obey God and have a
closer walk with Him. He gave me all the power I needed. The result was that He doubly blessed me
not only with weight loss but also with good health. Following the biblical laws of health God helped
me to go from a size 16 to a size 6 in 7 months, which is lower than my ideal size. Even years later
He is still helping me to follow these simple laws and my weight has leveled out and my health is real
good. Now I am at my Creator designed weight/size. With God’s help the program is so easy. There are no
hunger cravings, no overexertion from exercising or even tiredness from under nutrition. Any one
considering following the Laws of Health should do so immediately and you will experience God’s wonderful
blessings yourself!

Bro. Luke,

I want to thank God for your coming to Nashville a few weeks ago. I must say, it was a tremendous blessing to our church family, and to me personally.

I don't know if you remember me, but I was the one you spoke with openly in church, asking all those "embarrassing" questions about my diet and exercise habits! But thank God for it, because it was quite an eye opener for me.

Well, I went back to the doctor, after only being on the program you suggested to me for a little over a week (and this was without being able to put into practice everything as you instructed) and my cholesterol went from 344 to 206! My doctor told me that my tests came back and I was in great shape! None of the things we seemed to be so worried about were an issue! No thyroid problem! No diabetes problem! My husband went to the doctor with me that day...and he was delighted to hear my test results. Since you came here, I haven't eaten any meat and I have lost 10 lbs.!

My husband, Terrence, is helping me to walk 20 minutes everyday. I am so pleased with what God is doing in my life. WE are having worship most mornings....I know...but we went from not having daily worship to at least six times a week!

But Bro. Luke, my spiritual blessings are unbelievable too! I began to correct my error with God by not having worship and not reading and studying His word as I should, on top of not eating properly. What I found is that the more I studied, the closer I feel to Him and the greater my faith in Him has become. He blessings have become so manifested in my life, I find myself seeking His godly counsel all the time.

Bro. Luke, I have asked God for things, and He has been faithful to supply them. One thing in particular is for my husband to develop a relationship with Him for himself. God answered my prayer! My husband is even leading out in worship now! As expected, these blessings have not come without attacks from the enemy. When I began to eat as I should, I got really sick with a nasty sinus infection. It was horrible! Then, we were attacked financially with some unexpected bills. Then, I was told that June 20, 2008, I won't have a job. But you know, we are still holding on to God's hand and I am not worried. We know that everything is going to be alright!

Now, I just have one other favor to ask of you dear sir....can I have the recipe for the oatmeal patties and the "James" cookies. The ones with the dates in the middle? LOL! We can't wait for you to come back to Nashville! You and your wife are more than welcome to stay by our home. It is the least we can do to thank the man of God for sharing God's wisdom with His people.

My prayer is that you and your wife be continually blessed for spreading the health message to God's people.

You can call us at anytime. I have told EVERYONE about you and your health message. Keep providing us with "precious, precious information"!

Peace and blessings,

Sande Johnson

Hi Brother Luke,

It’s with God’s blessings in my heart and the sound of praise on my lips that I am sending you this testimony. As you know that I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2000, and was taking metformin 1000mg BID then decreased to 500mg BID, I was also suppose to be taking ASA 81 mg daily and Niacin. After I started your program, I began to see changes; I lost twenty five pounds and kept it off successfully. I went to the doctor in May of 2004 and my HDL was low, my LDL was normal and A1c was with normal limits for a diabetic. I kept on the diet, praying and trusting God and going on in faith. I did not return to the doctor for a check up since that time, because I have kept in very good health and I have been feeling very good.

I went in on the day before my birthday on March 8, for my annual check up (diabetics are suppose to see the doctor every three months, so you see I have been long over due). During my short visit and assessment the doctor stated so you are taking Aspirin, Metformin, and Niacin I responded, I am not taking any medication and have not taken any medication for almost two years. She became very upset and stated when did you stop taking your medication and did not let me know? I have lost control of your care. I replied Dr. you were never in control. I am not your typical patient. I know how to take of myself. I am doing everything right. I don’t drink juice, I don’t eat meat, I don’t use butter or fried foods, and I exercise daily. What do you mean that I have lost control? She looked at my family history and said you mother died of a stroke my immediate response was my mother was not diabetic.

I had to get blood drawn for the labs, so I told her my glucose levels will not be fasting, because I had eaten breakfast; this made her even more upset, and I told her what I had for breakfast should not send my blood glucose level up too high. I told her that I had for breakfast: Whole Wheat toast and oat meal with soy milk.
On 3/10/06 she called me and stated Dorothy I have to congratulate you and suggest that what ever you are doing continue to do it because your labs came back perfect, I am so very, very happy for you. Your HBA1c is 5.4 and all your labs are fine. While she was talking I was praising God. I want to let you know that God is true to His words, and is worthy to be praise. Please keep me in your prayer as I continue to do God’s work in His ministry. Please share this with those who really need to know that God can do everything but fail, when you trust Him.

Since July, 26, 2007, as a Pastor, I recommitted to adhering to the eight laws of health as a result of James Luke and his team conducting a city-wide Health Seminar in my city. As of February 4, 2008, I have lost 95 pounds in 6 months. How did I do it? By power walking seven days a week at least an hour, working in the yard, and often walking 18 holes of golf two or three times a week, eating a balanced total vegetarian diet on schedule in the proper order,

drinking only but water at the appropriate time, prayer and study of God’s word daily, and weighing in once a week. God’s plan really works! Bro. Luke is the only one I know, and I am an ordained minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, who teaches it exactly in accordance with Ellen White, medical research, and the Bible.

My whole family came down with a bad infestation of scabies. We went to the doctor and was prescribed a cream which we later found out was an insecticide. Thank you for telling us about the tea tree oil. We used the oil, and in no time the infestation was gone. The side effects alone from the insecticide cream we were prescribed were worse than the scabies.

My son was diagnosed with anemia; he had a low blood count of 7 and falling. The doctor prescribed iron for him, but not only did it stain his teeth—it also made him constipated. By following the simple remedies you told me about, his blood went from 7 to 10 which were normal in only three weeks. Thank you so much. I would have never known that Black Strap Molasses was the third leading source of iron. I did exactly what you told me "one tablespoon twice a day". Thank you once again. The Doctor could not believe how quick he got his blood count back up.

Hello James,

You probably have seen my number on your caller ID. I had just gotten a call from my doctor's office and I wanted to touch base with you. I wanted to tell you to keep up the good work you're doing. And thank you.

It was depressing when my doctor told me that I would "always be a diabetic." That was in late 2004. After the prescription medication (Fortamet) nearly killed me some months ago, it was nice to hear a different pronouncement from the same doctor's office yesterday.

The nurse called to tell me that my blood glucose was now normal. There was no mention of any medication. What puzzles me is that my doctor never asked about my diet. He doesn't know that I still have more than half of the first (and only) batch of pills he prescribed sitting on my counter today.

In March 2005, my doctor gave me 1000mg of Fortamet (metformin) twice per day. I soon found out it was an overdose, since it was my first time on the medication. It made me sick. After a few days on the medication, I could hardly go upstairs by myself.

When I called the office, they cut the dosage in half (i.e. 1000mg once per day), but I stil had diarrhea and I was still weak. It was later in 2005 that you did the Health by Choice Not by Chance seminar in Duluth. The dietary and lifestyle changes of eating "like a king at breakfast", "like a prince at lunch," and "like a pauper at dinner," exercise, getting enough rest by going to bed early, plus the natural herbs you recommended completely did it for me.

Would you believe that I have not had an abnormal blood glucose reading in months - fasting nor postprandial! At first, I thought my meter was bad, so I went and got another (different) brand. They showed the same thing. After seeing all these good results since late last year, I boldly went and did a full physical exam.

My doctor said what the good Lord promised, "normal blood glucose level".

But there is something else - a plus. I am feeling stronger and healthier today. Ask my wife. In fact, I will boldly tell anyone that following the eight health principles is the best practice for wellness and longevity.

Thank you again.

P.S. The insurance company that refused me for my company's key-member plan has accepted me in the plan (though at a higher premium, reviewable in a year's time). I am sure that premium will be "normalized" in a few months.

Hi James,

I just got back my medical report from my checkup last week. A1c = 5.3%, total cholesterol = 143 mg/dL, LDL = 85 mg/dL. Isn't God good? Your program is heaven-sent.

Hi, James,

Sorry I missed your call. I've attached my testimony on my improved vision and Ed's records since the last time I sent them to you. You can use my testimony on your web site if you'd like.

Improved Vision

I am extremely nearsighted and have astigmatism. I started wearing glasses in third grade although I probably should have had them long before starting school. Exams through the years usually resulted in having to get stronger lenses, never weaker. I can remember two times that the nearsightedness improved a little, but both times the astigmatism was worse. During your counseling in June 2005, you suggested that I take Bilberry Extract supplements for eye health along with continuing the Health by Choice Not by Chance program that I was already doing. I have been taking two capsules a day since then. By April 2006, I was really struggling to see properly with the glasses I had, so I went for an eye exam. I was thrilled to learn that for the first time I could remember, I was actually able to get weaker lenses for both nearsightedness and astigmatism.

Thank you!

Here is a summary of what we eat:

Breakfast, 7 a.m.
Fruit
Both of us have three types of fruit, plus I add raisins to my granola. The fruits vary from day to day, although Ed usually has grapes every day and I have two kiwi every day. We select from fresh bananas, mangoes, oranges, pineapple, strawberries, pears, peaches, blueberries, raspberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, apples, grapes, and kiwi. I usually have unsulphured dried apricots about three times a week.
Cereal
Ed eats two servings of oatmeal to which he adds 4 tablespoons of freshly ground flax seed, about 5 tablespoons of wheat germ, and 2-3 tablespoons of ground toasted pumpkin seeds. Those are added and stirred in just before he eats it.
I have two servings of the no-oil granola (made with added pumpkin seeds) to which I add some raisins, one tablespoon of wheat germ, 2 tablespoons of freshly ground flax seed, and one tablespoon of freshly ground sesame seeds, plus about one cup of soy milk. Every other day I also have one tablespoon of unsulphured blackstrap molasses.
Nuts
We were both having 1/4 cup of nuts every day with breakfast, but last month you said we shouldn't have that because it's too much fat, so we stopped having nuts.

Lunch, 12:30 p.m.
We usually have a salad or coleslaw, cooked vegetable, starch food (potatoes, brown rice, or whole-grain pasta), and a protein dish (legumes, tvp products, or gluten). Occasionally we'll have a healthy type of desert, but that's not a regular thing.
Salads are made with a variety of raw vegetables, romaine lettuce and other greens, and sometimes alfalfa sprouts, pumpkin seeds, and/or sunflower seeds. We don't use dressings, but I sometimes like Tofutti Sour Supreme on mine.
Cooked vegetables vary every day and may be kale, collards, swiss chard (hard to get), or beet greens cooked with onions and garlic, red beets, butternut squash, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, mixed vegetables, home canned corn, and possibly others I can't think of now.

Supper, between 5:30 and 6 p.m.
I don't have supper. Ed has two slices of plain toasted whole wheat bread and an apple.
